The 90th Annual Convention of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod
will be held June 17-21, 2007, in Mankato, Minnesota, on the campus
of Bethany Lutheran College. The theme this year will be Declare
His Praises.
We encourage each member congregation to send two delegates to participate in the business of the synod at the convention. Visitors are always welcome. Please complete and return the registration forms by April 1 (Microsoft Word; PDF). A separate form is needed for each congregation. Committee assignments will be made from the registrations shortly after April 1. Therefore, it is important that all congregations register by that date.
The Delegates Credentials form will be mailed to you in May along with the Book of Reports and Memorials. These credentials must be presented by the delegates upon arrival at the convention.
In order to give a report to the synod, President Moldstad will need complete information regarding any special events held in your congregation(s) by April 1. Please send photographs of individuals, church buildings, ordinations, anniversaries, dedications, or other events that should be featured in the Synod Report to the synod office.
We ask that you submit to the Equalization Committee the most cost-effective means of travel. We want to be good stewards and do as much as possible to keep the equalization cost down.
Pastor Emeritus: If you wish to reserve a room at the college dormitory, please fill out the LODGING RESERVATION FORM and return it to Elayne Luiken (700 Luther Drive, Mankato MN 56001). Please write on this form that you have emeritus status. The registration fee and Bethany lodging will be paid by Pastors’ Equalization. Please remember to turn in any payments you might have made for lodging, meals and transportation during the week to the Pastors’ Equalization Committee. However, if you are a delegate, your congregation will be responsible for your expenses.
