A Future With Christ's Love

Board for Evangelism Newsletter: January 2006

What will 2006 have in store for you?

Perhaps it will be a year of prosperity for you - graduation, a new job, a new baby, overseas travel. Or maybe things will simply hold steady for you during the year - same decent job, same healthy family and so on. Most of us do not like thinking about problems and hardships that could arise during the year - sickness, death, unemployment, separation from loved ones.

Uncertainty about the future causes many of us stress. We live in a sinful world - sin lurks around every corner. Sin hurts, it destroys, it causes us problems, and what is worse, because we ourselves are sinful, we are guilty before our Holy and Righteous God.

A wonderful Scripture verse that helps set our mind for the New Year is Romans 8:35, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" The answer is no one and nothing.

The fact is that God became man, born of a woman, for your salvation - The Christ child was born in Bethlehem. No one can change that! Christ lived a perfect life in your place. No one can change that! Christ suffered and died on the cross to pay for the guilt and punishment of your sin. No one can take that away from you!

No matter what the New Year holds in store for you - good or bad - remember, Christ's love for you remains and doesn't change, Christ's forgiveness for your sins remains and doesn't change, and Christ's promise to be with you always remains and doesn't change. In other words, your salvation is secure! This is the objective truth that we trust in good times and in days of hardship. Have a Happy New Year!
