ELS Reaffirms Position on the Sanctity of Marriage
The Evangelical Lutheran Synod, a confessional Lutheran church body of 22,000 souls, met for its annual convention June 21-24 at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. In response to a congregation's memorial requesting reaffirmation of its position on the sanctity of marriage, the synod in convention unanimously issued the following statement.
