It was just a little over two years ago that my wife and I first arrived in Clermont, Florida. We had no core group and no potential prospects had been identified. It was Eloise and I.

Christmas Traditions That Reflect Christ's Salvation
-
There are many Christmas traditions, probably more than for any other celebration we observe in our nation-and perhaps in the world! Probably the tradition that first comes to mind is that of shopping for Christmas presents. Retail merchants depend on a huge expenditure by shoppers to increase their year's profits. We read about people spending thousands of dollars for paintings, or decorative items for the home, or for such things as watches, jewelry, and clothing.

Saint Triumphant - Mr. Harold Heimsoth
-
1925 was a memorable year for Chicago-land. In that year Al Capone took over Johnny Torrio's organization, and the Cardinals won the professional football championship. Oxford baggy pants, flapper dresses and the Charleston were all the rage. It was a memorable year for Harold and Evelyn Heimsoth, too.

Christmas is for Receiving
-
"Christmas is for giving" is a much-used phrase heard in December. The idea behind this phrase is to prevent greed, that is, only wanting presents for oneself. Having a giving spirit will bless other people and make the giving person feel good. In the tale "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," there could be no Christmas when the Grinch stole all the presents under the tree.

Jesus Gives Us Life
-
Wave of panic overwhelmed many people this fall when they heard the news that there were not enough doses of the flu vaccine to satisfy the demand. The prospect of getting sick, going to the hospital, or dying brought fear to many. Experience has shown that people should have a healthy respect for the flu virus; last year over 3,600 Americans died from complications of that disease.
