God The Father

We have fathers and mothers who take care of us at home. They give us food and clothing and a house to live in. They keep us safe from harm. They teach us what is true. They teach us what is right. We trust in our fathers and mothers to take good care of us.

Who takes care of our fathers and mothers? Our Father in heaven takes care of them. He takes care of us. He takes care of everyone. He even cares for people who do not love him.

God the Father created the whole world in the beginning by speaking! That is how He made everything. He takes care of everything that He made. He makes the sun shine. God makes the rain and the snow fall. He is in charge of the whole world.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father, who art in heaven.” We call God “our Father” because that is who He is! Jesus is God’s eternal Son. Jesus makes us children of God. He takes away our sins. Jesus says we can talk to God. We can call God “Our Father” and we know, too, that He loves to hear us pray to Him.

Parents: Our Father in heaven takes care of us through human beings. It begins at home. Our children will learn more about God through what we parents say and do at home than anywhere else.
