Much of what you need and want to know about your synod can be found on the above site, which, while still a work in progress, is well worth the visit.

This site is being developed and maintained under the auspices of the Board for Publications with valuable consultation from the Committee for Integrating Technology (CfIT). Rev. Jesse Jacobsen is the Webmaster for the site. He will welcome your feedback and questions, which can be sent to jjacobsen@evangelicallutheransynod.org.

The following sections are now in place:

  • Our Message developed by the Board for Evangelism
  • President's Office you can find Pres. Moldstad’s monthly newsletter
  • Publications will have the online version of the Lutheran Sentinel and excerpts from the Lutheran Synod Quarterly.

Soon to follow will be sections for Missions, Directories, Youth, Historical Society, etc.

Why do we have a website? The Internet is becoming a primary source of information for many people in the United States. It is important that sinners find more on the Internet than words, images and sounds that offer only worldly wisdom. By providing God’s pure Word as found in confessional Lutheranism, we are providing the same water of life that Jesus offered to the Samaritan woman in John 4 – even on the Internet. What’s more, we will be directing people to churches where God’s pure Word and His sacraments provide the forgiveness of sins.

The primary purpose of our web site is to aid in the proclamation of the Gospel. Our web site is a global voice for the ELS, by which we can point out the one path to heaven. There are other benefits. The Internet makes collaboration possible that will aid the work of our churches, our schools and other synod organizations.

Several web sites already exist, sponsored by various ELS boards and committees, such as www.learnaboutjesus.com or the youth web site “The Light.” Where it serves those organizations, we will integrate their work with our new site.

Please pray for God’s continued blessings on this project, as we seek to hold the light of Jesus Christ high enough for all the world to see.

Check www.evangelicallutheransynod.org often to see the latest additions to the site and also to keep abreast of what is happening in your synod.
