New faces at Bethany

Zachary Buelow

Zachary Buelow is a new professor of mathematics and physics. Buelow earned his undergraduate degree and a master of science degree from Marquette University. His father, Ron also teaches at Bethany.

Matt Caron

Matt Caron is a new professor of theatre and will direct plays at Bethany, his first, The Glass Menagerie, ran last November. Caron is a Bethany alumnus, receiving his associate’s degree in 1996. He’s also earned degrees from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1998 and the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2001. Prior to coming to Bethany, Caron worked at Wisconsin Lutheran College from 2001-2004.  

Jim Wall

Jim Wall is another Bethany alumnus. He is a 1982 gradate of Bethany. Wall recently began his duties as Development Officer for BLC. Jim and his wife Lori, a 1986 Bethany graduate, have three children. Jim has been in sales for most of his working career including time with the Minnesota Vikings and Ping Golf.

Estelle Tesch

Estelle Tesch is a 2004 bachelor’s graduate of Bethany Lutheran College. Tesch hails from Watertown, South Dakota and she attended Nebraska Lutheran High School. She is a new Admissions Counselor for BLC.

Charlene Trautman

Charlene Trautman is Bethany’s new career services and internship coordinator. Charlene and her husband, Scott, farmed for thirty years before coming to Mankato. Charlene earned a degree in psychology from Southwest Minnesota State University.

Faculty and Staff Anniversaries at Bethany

Eleven members of the Bethany Lutheran College faculty and staff celebrated anniversaries of employment at the college during a special chapel service on February 15, 2005. The Rev. Joel Willitz, a member of the College’s Board of Regents, was the guest speaker and President Dan Bruss and Rev. Ken Schmidt presented the honorees with certificates of appreciation.

Building Progress Report

New Residence Hall

New Residence Hall

Progress continues on the newest building on the Bethany Lutheran College campus. The building, when completed, will house sixty-two female students.

The Lutheran Sentinel

The Lutheran Sentinel is the Evangelical Lutheran Synod's monthly magazine, and an official publication of the ELS. The subscription price is $12.00 per year, with reduced rates available for blanket subscriptions at $10.00 through a member congregation. Online, the archives are free.
